About us
Named for the river. Run like a workshop.
The name
The Derwent powered Derby's first mills, and those mills changed how the whole world made things. We borrowed the name because it stands for a very Derby idea: build the machinery well and let it run. That is what a good website is, machinery for winning work, and it deserves to be built that way.
The practice
Derwent Web Co. is the Derby practice of Everydaycreatives Ltd, a small independent studio. There is no sales team and no handover: the person who scopes your project designs it, builds it, and answers the phone afterwards.
What we believe about websites
Most local businesses do not need a big site. They need a clear one: what you do, where you do it, proof you do it well, and an easy way to get in touch. They also need it accessible, because customers who use screen readers or larger text are still customers. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and publish our prices, and we think both should be normal.
